Nioxin Research Laboratories is known for revolutionary products that provide a natural solution to the challenges associated with fine and thinning hair. But thanks in part to a recent partnership with up-and-coming designer Alvin Valley, Nioxin is proving that it's also a mover and shaker in the world of fashion. Alvin Valley recently provided fashions from its spring and fall collections for Nioxin's most important photo shoot of the year, which was held in New York in May. Nioxin founder Eva Graham and Director of Corporate Communications Jim Grannan were some of the executives who flew to New York from company headquarters in Georgia to supervise the shoot. With six models— four women and two men—the shoot will provide all of Nioxin's stock images for use in literature, education and possibly advertisements, both here and in European and Asian markets, for the next year. Freelance celebrity hairstylist and 2006 North American Hairstylist of the Year for Editorial Styling nominee, Laurentius Purnama, who is Britney Spears' "mane" man, was the sole stylist on set. James Russell, a fashion photographer based in NewYork City, worked with Nioxin to create images that convey a fashion-forward sensibility. Grannan says, "These images will serve as visual wallpaper for the company and send the message that hair is just as much a part of fashion as clothes."
