Robert Gioria, hairstylist to such celebs as Mariah Carey, Kevin Spacey and Julianne Moore, is back in business with the new Robert G Salon, a sleek, airy space that opened last September in Manhattan's West Village. Gioria, who formerly owned three Manhattan salons, parted ways with the beauty industry in 2001, but decided to return to working behind the chair when he was drawn in by a vacant storefront on Commerce Street. The salon offers cuts, color, highlights, updos, perms, relaxers, Japanese straightening, extensions and makeup application. Guests are treated to Pellegrino, red or white wine and oven-fresh cookies from the bakery next door, as well as a live DJ spinning tunes on Thursday nights.
