Want up-to-the-minute news and information on special events? Looking for a resource in the professional salon industry? NCA members get that and a lot more when they log onto the NCA's newly redesigned Web site, www.ncacares.org. The site is easy to navigate, offers a description of the work and values of the association, and brings the latest resources and worthwhile benefits to members. Here are some of the new features you'll find on the home page:
- "Scrolling" news
- InstaPoll (tell us what you think, and you'll get instant feedback; see the sidebar on this page)
- Industry events calendar
- Legislative activity update by state
- Competitions update
- Membership application for non-members
A special members-only section offers even more resources, including links to industry Web sites and to NCA state and affiliate sites; current and archived issues of the NCA monthly newsletter; and, coming soon, discussion forums, where members can network and share ideas with each other online.
"NCA really cares about what matters to salon professionals," notes NCA president Josephine Zeppieri. "We know that finding satisfaction in the work we do, building successful careers and keeping the profession strong are all important to us. That's why we provide this Web site. It's a place where, no matter where we live, salon professionals can access information about their careers and develop a sense of belonging with other professionals."
Membership in NCA is open to licensed salon professional and student hairdressers, estheticians, nail technicians, salon owners, school owners and cosmetology educators. For more information, call the NCA at (312) 527-6765, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit www.ncacares.org.
