Joico Co-sponsors Christmas Fundraiser
Joico got into the holiday spirit as a co-sponsor of the 11th Annual Cracked Christmas—Not So Silent Night Fundraiser in Los Angeles. The event, which featured a live auction and a performance by the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening, raised $57,000 for The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization that operates the only nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention help line for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. Celebrity attendees like Sigourney Weaver, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Chalke and Wanda Sykes left with a gift bag that included Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo and Conditioner. —L.M.

CND Hosts Business-Building Summit
CND held its landmark four-day strategic business-building summit in Newport Beach, CA, in July, attended by 135 CND representatives from 25 countries and CND's corporate staff. The summit set out to advance the state of the industry by improving technical excellence, elevating professional business-building skills of nail professionals and creating global consistency. CND unveiled a revamped education curriculum, new communication tools including a trilingual DVD series and a personal-wellness program.

Rolfsalon Hosts Green Appreciation Party
Rolfsalon hosted a Luxury Guest Appreciation party featuring PureOlogy products for more than 100 clients and guests in October in Wilmette, IL. Rolfsalon's party not only demonstrated client appreciation through raffles, party favors and discounts, but also educated guests on how they can act a little "greener" by choosing eco-friendly brands like PureOlogy. Guests were then treated to a hair show where stylists used PureOlogy products and Redken's new Spotlight Collection on eight models to demonstrate the products' versatility. —J.H.

New Faces, New Bases
Colomer USA recently promoted Barry Holmes to vice president of the Colomer USA salon division, Jacquie Johnson to vice president of sales for CND and Kimberley Natale to lead CND's global marketing efforts.

Andis Company named Gary Stanczyk as vice president of sales. In this new position, he will be responsible for sales in all of Andis' markets in the United States and Canada. Stanczyk joined the company in 1999 as vice president of retail sales.

Stila Cosmetics announced the promotion of Deanna Kangas as president and chief executive officer. Prior to her promotion, Kangas served as chief marketing officer at Stila since January 2008.
