Repêchage Participates in Spa Opening
Lydia Sarfati, CEO and founder of Repêchage, attended the grand opening celebration of the new Charles David Salon & Spa in Hanover, MA. The Redken Elite Salon has a huge following. Its Norwell, MA, location was chosen as Redken Salon of the Year for two consecutive years and was named one of the top 200 fastest-growing salons in America by Salon Today for four consecutive years. At the event, Sarfati analyzed clients' skin and whipped up masks, while her team performed Repêchage anti-aging hand treatments. Guests also indulged in champagne provided by Repêchage, hors d'oeuvres, and jazz entertainment, and left with a gift bag of Repêchage and Redken products. —N.P.

Redken Announces Reinvent Your Space Contest
Redken's Reinvent Your Space sweepstakes is giving salon owners the chance to win a free salon makeover designed by Peter Millard, author of Reinventing Space: The Clear Logic to Successful Salon Design and Merchandising, a guide for setting a professional tone through salon design.

"Successful merchandising can increase retail business and drive additional traffic into salons," said Constantina Tsavekou, Redken's director of merchandising. "We're excited to help salons reach their next level of success by reinventing a new professional salon environment."
Professional salon owners can visit redken.com/reinventyourspace from July 15 to August 31 to submit application forms and salon photos or videos, as well as a 500-word essay describing why their salon needs to be reinvented. —R.A.
SoftSheen-Carson Sponsors Star-Studded Gala
On May 5, SoftSheen-Carson joined forces with Figure Skating in Harlem for the Skating With the Stars, Under the Stars gala in Manhattan. The event raised more than $275,000 for the Figure Skating in Harlem's pioneering youth development program. SoftSheen-Carson, a Guiding Star sponsor of the event, donated $25,000 in cash and almost $10,000 in products. Held at Wollman Rink in Central Park, the fundraiser attracted such celebrities as Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni from Law & Order: SVU, Carson Kressley, JoJo Starbuck, The Real Housewives of New York City's Countess Luann de Lesseps and Jill Zarin, and figure skating legend—and the night's honoree—Dorothy Hamill. Guests were invited into the rink to skate alongside Hamill and other Olympic skaters, including Sasha Cohen, Kimmie Meissner, Johnny Weir and Viktor Petrenko. —L.M.
Alterna Sponsors Hawaii's Fashionista's Market
Alterna Professional Haircare recently sponsored Fashionista's Market, Hawaii's premiere shopping event, and donated a variety of haircare products that were included in 1,000 gift bags. In addition, Alterna donated Ten Voss sets to the "Project Makeover" winners, two women from the Leeward Domestic Abuse Shelter who also won a life-changing makeover.

"We think it's wonderful what Fashionista's Market is doing for these women, and we are very happy to contribute in any way we can," said Marion Johnson, vice president of marketing for Alterna.
