It's in the Cards
November 1, 2009 By: Lotus Abrams American SalonAndrea Bolding, the owner of Barnets Salon in San Francisco's eclectic Mission District, didn't originally intend to create a Western-themed salon, but was inspired by the cowhide benches her contractor husband designed for the space. Following suit, the salon's business card features a longhorn bull skull on a warm toffee background that matches the walls, type in the aptly named High Noon font, and a Western-inspired scroll border. The back resembles a posted notice, with room to note future appointments. "I think the look may not work as well if we were Downtown, but it's perfect for the Mission," Bolding says. —L.A.
