It's in the Cards

August 1, 2009 By: American Salon Staff American Salon

When it came time to design a business card, Ruth Roche, owner of Rare in New York City, drew inspiration from the city's signature style, as well as the salon's simple and modern design. The front of the card features the Rare logo in lowercase letters encompassed by a circle. The card's color, a vibrant shade of orange, symbolizes happiness and love, while the circle emphasizes the importance of community and is reminiscent of a New York City subway sign, Roche says. The back features the word "hair" under the stylist's name instead of a specialty. Says Roche, "As hairdressers, we should specialize in hair, not just one category of hairdressing." —A.F.
