It's in the Cards

June 1, 2008 By: Rachel Aguiar American Salon

In a color-overloaded world, Emmetts The Studio returns to the basics. Inspired by the 1920s pharmacy that now houses his Indianapolis-based salon, Emmett Cooper designed his business card—and the look of his entire product line—to mirror the pharmacy's classically stark atmosphere. The card features a black, white and gray color scheme with old typewriter lettering. "Some things never lose their integrity and become timeless," Cooper says. "Something old like a skipping typewriter can be so modern at the same time." Cooper also uses a different customer for the card's main image every six months. —R.A.
